QR codes stop working for several reasons, including expiration, pausing within the generator, damage, or containing an invalid link. To reactivate a QR code, the QR code plan needs to be upgraded.

Disabled QR codes are expired QR codes that no longer work. However, they are reactivated once the payment is made. Paused QR codes are those whose activity has been paused by the user through QR Code Creator. The QR codes are reactivated at any time.

Attention to the emails sent by QR Code Creator is essential to ensure QR codes remain functional. Furthermore, paying the subscription plan on time prevents the QR codes from expiring. Therefore, it's crucial to ensure payments are always made on time. Businesses benefit greatly from using a QR code that doesn't expire, ensuring their digital content remains accessible to customers indefinitely. A QR code that doesn't expire is ideal for long-term projects, such as product packaging or permanent displays, providing continuous access without maintenance.

Invalid QR Code: Why Do QR Codes Stop Working?

QR codes stop working for several reasons, including expiration, pausing within the generator, damage, or containing an invalid link. QR codes are paused at any time within the generator, which stops them from working. Users see it is paused and do not access the information when they scan a paused QR code. The QR code automatically expires and stops working if the payment plan for the QR codes is not maintained. However, the QR code works again once the payment is made. Scanning QR codes does not work if the link embedded within the QR code no longer points to the information. Furthermore, damage to the QR code renders it non-functional and unable to be scanned.

What is a Disabled QR Code?Disabled QR code

A disabled QR code is an expired QR code. One of the three subscription plans must be selected and paid for to use a QR code. The QR code automatically expires and stops working if the subscription plan's payment is not made, thus becoming a disabled QR code. The QR code campaign has been disabled if the QR code is disabled and no longer works. However, the QR code reactivates once the payment is made and works again. Companies avoid the hassle of constantly updating their codes and links by implementing a QR code that doesn't expire on promotional materials.

A paused QR code is a QR code whose activity has been paused by the user within the generator. It happens at any time. The user logs into QR Code Creator and changes the QR code's status from active to paused whenever they wish. The QR code campaign has been disabled if the QR code is paused and not working. Users reactivate the QR code at any time by clicking again to change its status to active.

How to Reactivate Disabled QR Code

To reactivate a QR code, the QR code plan needs to be upgraded. Users find out that a QR code has expired and needs reactivation by logging into QR Code Creator or scanning the QR code. The QR code is reactivated once the payment process is completed in both cases.

Login account

Users need to update the payment for the QR code when they log into QR Code Creator and see that a QR code has expired. Selecting one of the subscription plans is needed if no payment has been made before. To reactivate the QR code through QR Code Creator, follow the 3 steps.

  1. Select one of the subscription plans. Users see a red notification at the top indicating that the QR code is no longer working and needs to be upgraded when they log into QR Code Creator. Users see the available subscription plans below the notification. Selecting one of the plans is required.
  2. Enter the card details to purchase the plan. A page asking for the card details for payment appears after selecting a plan.
  3. Confirm the payment. Confirm the payment once the details are entered. The QR code is then reactivated and starts working again.

QR Code scan process

A different page opens if a QR code has expired and the user scans it. To reactivate the QR code after seeing it is inactive, follow the 4 steps.

  1. Click the Login button. A message on the screen indicates that it is temporarily inactive, and a Login button is visible after scanning the QR code. Clicking the Login button is needed.

  3. Enter the card details. Enter the card details once users have selected the appropriate plan.
  4. Confirm the payment. The payment is processed, and the QR code is reactivated and work again.

  3. Click the "Activate" button in the pop-up. A pop-up appears on the screen, asking for confirmation to activate the QR code. Click the "Activate" button to restore the QR code from its paused state.

How to Keep a QR Code From Expiring

To keep a QR code from expiring, 3 factors are listed below.

  1. Check regularly the email. QR Code Creator sends regular emails regarding expiring QR codes. Users must stay informed about the expiration status of the QR codes by checking email.
  2. Keep the subscription active. The QR code remains functional and does not expire as long as the subscription is active. Maintaining an active subscription according to the price plan prevents expiration.
  3. Ensure funds are in the card. QR Code Creator automatically charges the card when it's time for payment. However, it is unfeasible if insufficient funds exist and the QR code expires. Therefore, regularly checking for sufficient funds in the card is essential.

What is the difference between restoring QR codes and reactivating QR codes?

Restoring a QR code typically refers to the process of recovering a deleted QR code, bringing it back to its original state, including all associated data and functionalities. Reactivating a QR code, on the other hand, means enabling a QR code that was temporarily deactivated, usually due to subscription expirations or usage limits, so that it can be scanned and used again.
